I love learning about new products to buy, trends to try, tips, tricks, and healthy hacks to add to my wellness repertoire. And if it makes my life easier, even better! Here are five things I am loving lately.
Ninja Creami
When the Ninja Creami first came out, I thought it wasn’t worth the hype. But this is a prime example of when a company markets a product really well. After seeing it repeatedly on social media, and all of the delicious, creamy concoctions this kitchen appliance could make, I bit the bullet and bought myself the Ninja Creami Deluxe for Mother’s Day. At the time I was in my second trimester of pregnancy with ice cream cravings and the heat of the summer ahead. I will say there has been no buyer’s remorse around here. I absolutely love it! It did take me a few days of watching videos, playing around with various recipes, and getting the ingredient ratios right, but I have been making weekly Creami for a post-dinner sweet treat ever since. I have yet to share some recipes, but I am planning on it!
Poshdivah Maternity Bodysuit
There comes a time in pregnancy – especially if you just so happen to be very pregnant in the summer (as I am) – when you just can’t wear pants. So when I saw a friend (who is also pregnant) wearing this maternity bodysuit during one of my barre classes, I immediately wanted one for myself. Slipping into this bodysuit for the first time was a game-changer. I wanted to live in it. Not only is the fabric soft, silky, and oh-so comfortable, but it fits well and keeps me cool during what I believe to be one of the hottest summers I have ever experienced. I bought two pairs and wear them constantly.
Healthier Cereal
To say I love cereal is a serious understatement. In fact, my friends called me the cereal monster in college because when everyone else came home from bars and binged on pizza, I would eat a bowl (or two) of cereal instead. I even remember “I love cereal” being my response to a freshman class ice-breaker (when we had to go around the room and state something about ourselves. I kid you not). Obviously the cereals I consumed as a kid no longer align with my nutritional values to eat them regularly (they are straight sugar bombs), which is why I love the fact that there are healthier, more blood sugar balancing options on the market. These products are made with upgraded ingredients such as gluten-free and grain-free flours, metabolically-friendly sweeteners, and less seed oils. Catalina Crunch, Seven Sundays, Magic Spoon, Lovebird, Purely Elizabeth and Three Wishes are all brands to turn to when you want to satisfy your cereal cravings in a healthier way.
Biologique Recherche
Last November, I got a Biologique Recherche facial at Boketto in Richmond. During a session with my acupuncturist, I couldn’t get over her skin. She was glowing, which led her to tell me all about a new service they were offering with the Biologique Recherche skincare line. The brand was new to me, but I was highly intrigued, so I scheduled a facial soon thereafter. I walked away from that appointment with a couple products, and I firmly believe both the P50W exfoliating lotion and soothing serum has changed by skin for the better – more even skin tone and less redness.
The Giggly Squad Podcast
When I went to Charleston in the spring, my friend got me hooked on the reality television show Summer House. I later learned that two of the cast members – Hannah and Paige – have a podcast called The Giggly Squad. The majority of the podcasts I listen to have an educational bent within the realm of health and wellness (including my own); sometimes however, I want something a little lighter that is going to make me laugh. This podcast lives us to its name because it has had me giggling from the very first episode.
