Healthified Date Caramel To Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

The best is when we figure out how to upgrade a sweet treat to make it healthier! When you can do so from plants? Even better!

Watch below how we make date caramel, and deliciously spread it on an Empower Bar for a treat that will benefit your body and soul.

Healthified Date Caramel

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • Food processor

Ingredients
  

  • 20 pitted Medjool dates
  • 3 – 4 cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Place dates in a large bowl and cover with enough hot water to cover. Allow to soak for at least 20 minutes.
  • Drain the dates, reserving 1/4 cup of the soaking water. Peel and remove pits (skin should come off easily).
  • In a food processor, combine the dates, soaking water, and vanilla extract. Process until smooth, scraping down the sides as you need to. We suggest spreading on Empower Bars as demonstrated in the video!

Notes

Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to 10 days
