Wellness Feature With AlcHERmy Founder Nyeesha Williams

By Nadia Murdock

Nyeesha D. Williams knows all about what it means to live a holistic lifestyle inside and out. She is a Wholesome Growth Strategist at Serenity & Oasis, LLC, and an accomplished author. But her story hasn’t always been easy, and is also familiar with feelings of isolation. When she found out that she was pregnant with her first child, a teenage Nyeesha sought solace and inspiration from her high school teachers. They served as the consistent and trustworthy support system she needed in order to not feel alone and vulnerable. With their help, she slowly started to have faith in her potential and pursued the life she always wanted for herself and her family. As a professional, Nyeesha seeks to be that kind of support system and cheerleader for other women who are in the same situation that she was in decades ago.

Nyeesha wholeheartedly practices what she preaches when it comes to the importance of self-care, self-awareness, and unapologetic truth-telling for healing, happiness, and growth. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California, and spends her summers hiking, meditating, and beach hopping with her husband and three children.

2. What best describes AlcHERmy in just a few words?

AlcHERmy is an all natural personal care line that helps you and your family glow from within.

3. Now give us the full scope of the brand and why it was created?

The official pandemic lockdown began on my oldest daughter’s birthday. She and my youngest daughter both began showing signs of depression due to lack of connection to family and friends. One day after another there was something wrong which led to them not being able to see their own glow. I reached for my published affirmational journal, and had my two daughters repeat one positive affirmation each day. This practice was done in the mirror, driving to the store, and even repeated over and over during our cross-country commute to a new home.

My life’s work is shaped by mental health, wellness, and creating individualized tactics and strategies to help women and their families grow. Noticing a change in my own children by using positive affirmations, intentional self-care, along with the financial burden due to the pandemic, it felt right to create a product that would help our family and friends as well. We created AlcHERmy so that other families could experience something similar to us. We wanted more positive stories and even healthier ones during a time when most of us lacked faith. AlcHERmy has brought mothers and daughters together, husbands and wives, and even the ones who are taking this journey alone, but needed to be reminded by their power and beauty which first comes from within.

4. How is AlcHERmy bringing families closer together?

We pride ourselves on being cruelty-free, all vegan, paraben-free, sulfate-free, silicone-free, gluten-free, talc-free, carcinogen-free, and eco-friendly. I mean, need I say more? Creating products as such allows everyone in the family (all ages) to experience self-care/family time. We’ve had men express how they’ve never taken the time out to speak an affirmation to themselves or even take quality time out to take care of themselves. Then there are mothers who send over pictures of them and their 4 year old daughters and sons sharing how these self-care moments brought everyone together.

There are so many stories, before and after pictures, and confessions that warms our hearts.

5. What’s one thing we humans don’t do enough of?

We don’t do enough resting, intentional boundary setting, self-love practices, and listening.
