How Our Bars Help Your Heart!

During February we tend to see lots of hearts to accompany the love and celebration of Valentine’s Day. And rightfully so, February is also healthy heart month, and that the hearts we see can mean so much more, serving as loving reminders to take care of our own ticker! The Gratisfied company culture was created, and is driven on, promoting a holistic, natural lifestyle and healthy habits, which is supported by the ingredients we use in our bars. There are many benefits to consuming Gratisfied products, but for the sake of this special month, we wanted to highlight how eating an Empower Bar or V Bar can support a healthy heart!

Seeds: Seeds are one of the best sources of healthy fat. Pumpkin, sunflower, and hemp seeds can all be found in our bars, and they are full of magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium, and antioxidants to fight heart disease and reduce inflammation.

Nuts: Nuts, like seeds, are a good type of fat that our body needs. Almonds, found in our bars in the form of almond butter, contain vitamins, minerals, fiber, and are high in HDL cholesterol which reduces plaque buildup and keeps your arteries clear.

Avocados: Avocado oil is the only oil we use, and this ingredient was chosen with intention. It is rich in oleic acid, a very healthy monounsaturated fat with a number of benefits. Studies have shown that avocado oil helps to reduce cholesterol and improve heart health. It is also high in antioxidants making it a natural inflammation fighter.

Pea Protein: This high-quality, plant-based protein used in our bars has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Consuming plant-based proteins may also reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
